How much should a trade website cost in 2026?

October 02, 2026•2 min read

Ask ten web designers what a trade website should cost and you will get ten answers, from a few hundred pounds to several thousand, plus hosting, plus updates, plus a maintenance plan nobody explained. This post sets out what you are actually paying for and what a fair monthly price looks like.

The three ways trades usually pay

The first is a one off build. You pay a lump sum, you get a site, and then it slowly goes out of date because every change costs money and nobody wants to ring the designer. The second is a DIY builder. Cheap, but you are the one doing the work at 10pm, and the site usually looks like it. The third is a monthly plan, where the site, hosting, updates and the tools around it are all included for one price.

What a monthly plan should include

At the very least, a trade website should be built for your trade and your area, so local searches find you. It should load fast on a phone, because that is where your customers are. And it should be able to take a job request online, with photos, so the customer who will not ring can still send you the job.

That is what our Basic plan is: a smart website and an online job request form for £99 a month, or £799 a year. No setup fee, no contract, cancel any time, and the content is always yours.

When a website is not enough

A website gets you found. It does not answer the phone while you are on a job, it does not confirm bookings, and it does not ask for reviews. If you lose work because you cannot reply quickly, the System plan at £199 a month adds missed call text back, one inbox, AI chat that books jobs, automatic reminders and reviews on autopilot, plus a free database reactivation campaign worth £500. Both plans are compared side by side on the pricing page.

A simple way to decide

Work out what one job is worth to you. If one extra booked job a month covers the plan, the maths is done. If one missed call a week is one lost job, that is already more than the system costs.

What to do next

See both plans on the pricing page and start whichever fits, or book a quick call first if you want to talk it through. Either way you will be live in 7 to 10 days.
